Send and Receive ELA

ELA is the native token of the Elastos network. You can hold and transfer ELA on both the main chain (for staking, voting, and governance) and ESC (for smart contracts and DeFi).

Receiving ELA​

  1. Open Essentials and navigate to your Wallet tab
  2. Select the chain you want to receive on (Main Chain or ESC)
  3. Tap Receive to display your address and QR code
  4. Share this address with the sender
tip

If you are buying ELA from an exchange, check which chain the exchange supports. Most exchanges send ELA to the main chain address (Base58Check format, starts with E). Some support ESC directly (starts with 0x).

Sending ELA​

  1. Open Essentials and go to your Wallet tab
  2. Select the chain you want to send from
  3. Tap Send
  4. Enter the recipient's address or scan their QR code
  5. Enter the amount
  6. Review the transaction details and confirm
  7. Enter your spending password to authorize

Transaction Fees​

  • Main chain: Fees are minimal (fractions of an ELA)
  • ESC: Gas fees apply, similar to Ethereum but significantly lower
